Outstanding performance scored by the Volkswagen T-Cross despite the harsh environment.The fall reported since mid March in new vehicles sales in Europe, impacted the best selling car ranking with almost all the models on top of the list losing in double-digit.However, the list does not changed with 9 out of the top 10 model confirming the place from the previous year, with only the Citroen C3 slipping out (in 12h) replaced by the Opel Corsa (in 9th).Skoda Octavia (-28%) was the most resilient model in the top 10, due to the high mix of sales in East Europe – a zone less impacted by covid19 -.Our European best selling cars ranking cover sales done within the entire continents (44 markets from Portugal to those in the East, like Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Moldova).The best-selling models is the Volkswagen Golf with 94.674 sales (-41.7%).The Renault Clio – after keeping the market podium for the entire previous decade – manages to reach the 2nd position, outpacing the Volkswagen Polo by less than 2k units.Indeed, the Volkswagen Polo is placed at the edge of the podium with 72.296 units sold (-41.9%). With more than 14 million units sold, it is one of the world’s most successful compact cars ever and actually the best seller. The sixth generation was launched in late 2017, with new exterior design, noticeably more spacious interior that has also been redesigned down to the last detail, new cockpit layout structured for the digital world, efficient TSI (petrol), TGI (natural gas) and TDI (diesel) engines as well as an array of assistance systems which previously was only familiar in larger Volkswagen cars.The Volkswagen Tiguan keeps the fourth position with 69.257 sales (-31.4%) followed by the Skoda Octavia – up one spot from last year – and the Ford Focus.
